2011 Wedding Favourites
2011 was a such great year, so many memorable weddings and fantastic clients. Here’s a little set of my favourite shots from across the year, and why I loved taking them!
I just love the three reactions in this shot, taken just after ’sock-gate’
The Bridal Suite at Hedsor House is one of my all time favourite rooms for great light.
Mmmm… I do love a reflection shot.
A quiet moment for final preparations
I just love the way the light fell across Wendy’s eyes in this one
A great mix of nerves and excitement in Anna’s face… such a nice atmosphere in her hotel room in the morning before the wedding at Ashdown Park
Nicola looked amazing, and this Ravello hotel backdrop was just as elegant for a lovely portrait before heading to church
Such a happy day at Coworth Park. You can see the excitement on Jo’s face as she arrived in the sunshine
Karine making her way down the amazing staircase on the way to an outdoor service at Hedsor House.
Penny’s arrival in Greenwich, I love the golden light at autumn weddings!
The first time they saw each other in the wedding day, moments before the service…
I love the excited expressions on Matt and Maria’s faces
I like looking for alternative angles at churches
I love the colours from this sparkler line at Jon & Helen’s London wedding
Stunning Ravello backdrop for this silhouette… the boat passing by was just a bonus
The moment just after Emily’s veil nearly took off in the wind
The car arriving at sunset at Brocket Hall
moments later with Daisy & Tom
I love speeches, and most importantly, the reactions!
The incredible backdrop at Syon Park
The night sky at Blenheim Palace
I just love the emotion in the face here, just after dancing with her dad.

Fantastic photographic work. I like very much you stile: great use of lens, composition and being at the moment. Great. Congrats.
Daisy & Tom – wedding photographer Brocket Hall
As some of you know, Marie and I got married ourselves in December last year, so it’s no surprise I love a good winter wedding! This really was the perfect sunny winter day too, and Brocket Hall is an incredible backdrop for a wedding. Arriving in Daisy and Tom’s Rolls Royce with the house lit beautifully on the other side of the lake was a great moment, and we had just enough time to capture some sunset portraits (the adrenalin really does kick in when the light is perfect
. I hope you enjoy a few of my favourite shots from the day, and if you’d like to see more then our Slideshow with a few more in is a great taster of this beautiful and fun wedding. Happy honeymooning Daisy & Tom!

Hi Mike,
I’ve looked at these dozens of times but not commented before and don’t know why! I love them, especially the silhouetted shots in particular but they are all beautiful. The light and colours to them are really special.
Jo & Michael – wedding photographer Coworth Park
It’s so nice when it all comes together. Great people, sunshine, a beautiful location, and real emotion.
Coworth Park was a stunning backdrop for Jo and Michael’s wedding back in September. I’d been looking forward to shooting this one all year and I had a blast on the day… particularly loved the secret flash mob dance at night, which took Jo and Michael by total surprise! I’ve just finished designing a lovely Queensberry Duo album for them, ready to delivery in time for Christmas, I’ll share some pics of it on the blog before long!

So romantic and stunning pics.
Leila & Mark – wedding photographer in italy, siena wedding photography
I was really happy to head over to Tuscany this August for a beautiful wedding in the hills around Siena, for Leila and Mark. Leila is also a wedding photographer, so no pressure with this one then! In all seriousness, Leila and Mark were such lovely hosts for all their guests, me included, and were incredible by roaming round Siena for a whole hour to get some killer portraits. The night time was a whole lot of fun too, I wish I could remember the name of their one-man band because he had the crowd dancing all night and created a great atmosphere. Special mention to to Jackie of Marry Me in Tuscany, for the planning work… it was nice to hang out x

A great set of images Mike. Well deserved, if only for the effort I know went in to achieve the top image. If you ever grew tired of photography there’s a job for you as a sparky!
